Jason Millar was born in 1972 in Belfast, where he studied Design at the University of Ulster.

His passion for music, films and books are reflected in his colourful portrayal of modern life and diverse relationships.

Millar is influenced by so many aspects of life.   He is fascinated by people watching which inspires the interaction of the different characters in his paintings.  They each tell their own story and the viewer cannot help spending time being a ‘part of the moment’.   Owners of these paintings often say they see a little bit of themselves,  their families and their friends in the images and this creates a love, a connection and a passion for them.

Millar uses acrylic paints on deep canvases and each piece has a smooth, luxurious finish.   Bold colours are an essential ingredient for him and his paintings have a very contemporary feel.  Each one makes a statement and immediately impact the spaces they occupy.

Millar cannot help being influenced by current trends and colours and he is particularly keen on fashion trends, both past and present.  An example of this is seen in his mod paintings or bouffant hairstyles, which bring the 60s back to today.  Millar strives to bring energy, excitement and perhaps a cheeky grin to people’s faces.

Millar always strives to create  something cool, fresh and fashionable for homes and offices and his paintings are popular with a number of celebrity clients.  His work never fails to compliment their surroundings effortlessly, which give his paintings a universal appeal.

Millar has worked on a number of corporate and private commissions and he loves the challenge of creating bespoke work for his clients.  As his work has a truly unique style clients fall in love with them and he is keen to share his passion for art with others.
